Simple New Year’s Eve Celebration
My favorite way to celebrate New Year’s Eve is at home with friends, eating tapas. Tapas are perfect for the evening's festivities and pair well with sparkling wine. From olives to cheese to fish, almost anything goes when it comes to tapas. Here are some suggestions for a tapas party menu.
Wine and Cheese
Champagne is the beverage of choice for many on New Year's Eve. If you're not sure which one to choose, we have some recommendations that will fit any budget. If you're having a late night party, a cheese board may be the best thing to pair with your champagne.
Soup for Supper
Cold winter nights are the perfect time to have soup for supper. We have several recipes that can be prepared in about 30 minutes. Add some whole grain bread or crackers, a green salad and fresh fruit for dessert and you have a quick, easy and nutritious weeknight meal.
From the Butcher Shop: Short Ribs
Beef short ribs are perfect for a hearty winter meal. Braising turns this economical cut of beef into a flavorful and tender treat. The long, slow cooking process required for braising makes short ribs ideal for a weekend meal. Cooking tips and recipes.
Creative Salads
With so many people making resolutions to eat healthier and get in shape, January is a big month for salads. Since one cannot live by lettuce alone, we offer you recipes for creative salads that may help you keep your resolutions on track.
Ten Utensils for Every Kitchen
The wintry months of January and February are made for creating meals that will warm you up and fill your home with wonderful aromas. With that in mind, we've created a list of ten utensils every kitchen should have. Check out our list and get a coupon for $1 off any of these items in January.
